International Homeless Animals’ Day

Third Saturday of August
Sponsored by and under the organization model of the International Society for Animal Rights

The overpopulation of companion animals is a moral problem. Acting upon its consequences does not solve it.

The aim of this day is to raise public awareness on the urgent need to control the overpopulation of companion animals (the stray and also the ones that have a guardian) and to denounce the killings carried out under the euphemism of euthanasia. It is necessary to instill the need to control canine and feline reproduction, to establish public programs for sterilization (spaying/neutering), to educate towards adoption, care and protection of our lifelong companions. This is the message.

The candles are lighted for the animals murdered in animal health control centers, or by street poisoning and in some pseudo-protectionist shelters.
